ok you need to explain a bit more, no combos? what exactly did you mean by that? how in the world did Melee need more skill to recover? and WTF is tripping?

poster

Hitstun is next to non existent in Brawl, in Melee after you airdodged you were vulnerable, in Brawl you can airdodge as much as you want until you land on the ground. In Brawl no matter how close you are to the ledge, when you UpB you automaticly grab onto it (unless you're really close to it or your character doesn't grab onto the ledge automaticly), in Melee you had to work for your recovery with the skill it took sweet spot the edge (when you grab onto the edge without having your hitbox reach above the edge which would make you vulnerable). And don't tell me you've never tripped in Brawl. It's when you stumble from starting a dash.

from a competitive aspect melee is better and it was the better game for it's time...but c'mon.

Brawl is just the better game when you compare the two side by side.

Larger roster, more content, better soundtrack, online (don't try to tell me that no online is better than crappy/barebones online...becasue it isn't)...it's kind of pointless to re-release melee.

Plus, it'd be a slap in the face for Sakurai, considering he worked over 3 years with Brawl and rushed with Melee.

Meh. I would enjoyed the whole lvl design if I could A): Play online using the feature and B): it had alot more customization to offer. Felt alittle tacked on to me. But I do enjoy Brawl more than Melee. At least, in my opinion...

Since the DSi will have faster downloads and a built-in browser, I would like to know how fast is its CPU. Perhaps the higher price may have to do with the faster CPU and other features.

As for "Red Ocean," I did not know that the DSi will be competing against the Xbox 360 and PS3.

MagnuzGuerra

It's not a Red Ocean product, DSi is targeting the the consumer that want to use it as a tool. DS 3
Phase three is all about the product becoming a tool for such a non-customer. This means the DS will be given non-gaming additions. This is not unlike the Wii having a Weather Channel and News Channel, for example. Music playback and likely firmware that allows it to be used as a tool, such as a cookbook or a navigation guide in airports and other areas, fit the 'distant user' very well. People could buy the DS as a tool for those things and get into gaming in a more roundabout way. article
The "distant user" is the 3rd phase of the Blue Ocean strategy. DSi is not meant to compete to anything at all. Another interesting article/blog post: Reggie confirms DSi is a Blue Ocean product

Hmm, that's interesting. I knew about the navigation guide and Nintendo's baseball stadium, but I never made the connection. I always saw the camera, etc. as Red Ocean features, but I was only seeing the surface. My interest is based in the Red Ocean, but the Blue Ocean appeal is certainly there.

The playing online part would have been great...Maybe in the sequel

I don't know about the customization issue. I though it was great. I have made around 20 of them.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Sin & Punishment 2 and Punch Out! might make me keep my Wii.

Anyway, this surely is a better jump from DS Lite to DSi than it was for GBA SP to Game Boy Micro.Willy105
lower battery life and more features I'm not interested in using.

meh.

do appreciate the slightly bigger screen.

lol you come up with some great gifs.... I doubt the battery life would bother me though. I practically keep my DS fat on charge most of the time while playing so it won't be a issue for me.....

Better backgrounds or at least more variety wouldn't have hurt. Having a limit to the amount of blocks to use sucks. Ability to change block colors would been nice. Ability to use any theme of blocks for any background would have been helpful. There are a few more things that annoyed me about making stages, but I named the top complaints. It's a nice feature, but felt too strict....
